    What Volty does with Sonar

Sonar is a billing and operational support system for internet service providers. Volty queries Sonar's GraphQL API with a personal access token from a user you create for it. A subscriber reporting evening dropouts gets their account checked and a technician job proposed for dispatch, and someone surprised by an $85 bill sees the plan, router rental and late fee itemized.

    • Bill lines itemized

Volty reads the invoice lines and explains each charge.

    • Dropouts triaged

The account and its open jobs are checked before a visit is proposed.

    • A role made for Volty

The token belongs to a user whose role you limit.

    • Truck rolls confirmed by dispatch

Job creation starts Off and usually runs on review.

VoltyHi Thomas, this month's $85 is your $70 Internet 500 plan, a $10 router rental added on October 12, and a $5 late fee from last month's payment.

    How Volty connects to Sonar

Sonar's API is GraphQL, authenticated with personal access tokens. Our team builds Volty's connection with a token from a user set up just for it, and your admin approves it before subscribers are answered.

    1. 01

Create a role and a user

Sonar recommends a dedicated user with a narrow role, so a leaked token exposes little.

    2. 02

      Generate the token

Signed in as that user, open the avatar menu, then Personal Access Tokens, and create one named Volty.

    3. 03

      Agree the reads

Accounts, invoices, services and jobs, and whether job creation is allowed.

    4. 04

      Approve and switch

Your admin approves the connection and sets job creation to Check with staff.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Match subscriberReads
    • Read invoice linesReads
    • Read services and open jobsReads
    • Create service jobChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes Sonar starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

What kind of Sonar access does Volty need?

A personal access token for Sonar's GraphQL API. Sonar recommends creating a dedicated user with a narrow role first, then signing in as that user and generating the token from the avatar menu under Personal Access Tokens. Name it Volty so it is easy to revoke.

Can Volty schedule a technician directly?

Volty can propose a job with the account, the issue and the window the subscriber prefers. Creating the job in Sonar is a change, so it starts Off and is usually run with Check with staff so dispatch confirms the time.

Will Volty explain fees on an invoice?

Yes. Volty reads the invoice lines on the subscriber's account, such as the plan, equipment rental and any late fee, and explains the total in plain terms. Disputes and credits go to your billing team.

How much does it cost to connect Sonar with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
