    What Volty does with SkuVault

SkuVault Core, now part of Linnworks, tracks stock down to the bin for e-commerce warehouses. Volty reads a SKU's quantity in each location so a picker asking in team chat hears which shelf to walk to. When a shopper on web chat asks about a sold-out size, Volty checks incoming purchase orders and gives the expected date.

    • Bin-level answers

Location codes like A-12-03 come back with the count in each.

    • Restock dates from POs

The due date on an open purchase order is what a shopper hears.

    • SKU or plain words

Ask for TRL-BLU-09 or the blue trail shoes in size 9.

    • No quantity changes

Volty reads stock. Adjustments stay with your warehouse team.

    Size 10 is sold out

A shopper wants a size that is gone. Volty finds the open purchase order and its due date.

    How Volty connects to SkuVault

SkuVault's REST API works from two tokens: a tenant token for your account and a user token for the person it acts as. The Volty team sets Volty up with them as a custom connection.

    1. 01

Pick a SkuVault user for Volty

Tokens come from an active user's login, so a disabled user gets none. A dedicated user keeps Volty's calls apart.

    2. 02

We request the tenant and user tokens

From SkuVault's getTokens call, kept on Volty's side and never shown to staff.

    3. 03

      Approve it in Volty

A Volty admin signs off once before Volty reads any stock.

    4. 04

Turn tools on one at a time

Every SkuVault tool has its own switch: On, Check with staff, or Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find SKUReads
    • Read quantity by locationReads
    • Read open purchase ordersReads
    • Add product noteChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes SkuVault starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

How does Volty get access to SkuVault?

SkuVault's API issues a tenant token for the account and a user token for a specific user, in exchange for that user's login. Our team sets Volty up with tokens from a user you choose, ideally one made for Volty, so its calls are separate from your staff. A disabled user cannot get tokens.

Does Volty change quantities or move stock between bins in SkuVault?

No. In this setup Volty reads products, quantities by location and purchase orders. Adjustments, transfers and cycle counts stay with your warehouse team in SkuVault. A product note tool exists and starts Off.

Will Volty overload SkuVault's API during busy periods?

SkuVault throttles every API call, and Volty only calls it when someone asks a stock question or a scheduled run starts. A busy picker channel means more lookups, so the weekly reorder list is built as one run instead of many small ones.

How much does it cost to connect SkuVault with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
