    What Volty does with CompanyCam

CompanyCam is the photo app crews use to document jobsites, with photos, tags, notes and checklists filed under each project. Volty reads the day's photos and tags on a homeowner's project and tells them what the crew got done. Project managers ask Volty whether a closeout checklist is complete before they invoice.

    • Today's progress in words

26 photos tagged tear-off and decking become two sentences.

    • Checklist gaps

Which item on a closeout checklist is still open.

    • Project by homeowner

Volty finds the project for the person messaging and nobody else.

    • Comments off by default

Posting a comment into CompanyCam waits for you to allow it.

    How Volty connects to CompanyCam

CompanyCam's API uses bearer access tokens, with OAuth for partners who publish integrations, and its reference covers projects, photos, tags, comments and project checklists. The Volty team sets Volty up with a token as a custom connection.

    1. 01

      Create an access token

On the access tokens page of the CompanyCam app, by a user with access to the projects you share.

    2. 02

      Plan for the API change

CompanyCam is retiring its legacy API in early 2027, so our team builds new connections on its current API.

    3. 03

      Approve it in Volty

An admin approves the connection once.

    4. 04

      Choose switches

Reading photos can be On. Comments start Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find projectReads
    • Read today's photos and tagsReads
    • Read checklistReads
    • Comment on projectChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes CompanyCam starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

Does Volty send homeowners the jobsite photos?

Volty reads the photos' tags and notes and describes what was done. Sending the photos themselves stays with your team, for example by the gallery link your project manager shares, so you decide which pictures a homeowner sees.

How is CompanyCam connected, given the legacy API is going away?

CompanyCam says its legacy API is deprecating in early 2027 and points developers to a new API. Volty connects with an access token created in the CompanyCam app, and our team builds new connections on the API CompanyCam currently supports.

Can crews ask Volty about a project from the field?

Yes, in Volty's team chat. A crew lead can ask whether the closeout checklist is done or what was tagged yesterday, and Volty reads it from CompanyCam. The comment tool, which posts back into CompanyCam, starts Off.

How much does it cost to connect CompanyCam with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
