    Church Community Builder and Volty

Volunteers ask which Sunday they serve and members look for a group, and Volty reads Church Community Builder schedules and group profiles to answer and passes swaps to team leads.

What Volty does with Church Community Builder

Church Community Builder, now Pushpay ChMS, is church management software for people, groups, events and serving. Our team connects Volty through a CCB API user your Master Admin creates, with only the services you tick for it. Volunteers ask which Sunday they greet, members ask about GriefShare, and Volty reads the serving schedule and group profiles, then passes swaps and care needs to the right lead.

    • My next Sunday

The serving date, service time and team for the volunteer asking.

    • Cover found by the lead

A can't-make-it message becomes a note to the team lead.

    • Services you tick

The API user reaches only the CCB services checked on its Services tab.

    • Grief is not a ticket

Volty gives the group details and asks the leader to call.

My dad passed in the summer. Is there a grief support group at church?

VoltyI'm so sorry about your dad, Kevin. GriefShare meets on Wednesdays at 7pm in Room 204, and Pat Nguyen leads it. Would you like Pat to reach out to you before the next one?

How Volty connects to Church Community Builder

Church Community Builder, now part of Pushpay, grants API access through API users. Each API user has a username and password and a list of services it may call, set by your Master Admin.

    1. 01

      Create an API user

The Master Admin, or anyone with the Edit System-Wide Settings privilege, opens System Settings > API and adds a new API user.

    2. 02

      Tick its services

On the Services tab, check only what Volty needs, such as individual profile, group profile and serving schedule services.

    3. 03

Send our team the API URL

The API URL is on the same page. Our team builds the connection with it and the API user's login.

    4. 04

      Approve and pick switches

An admin approves the connection in Volty. Anything that writes to CCB starts Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find individual profileReads
    • Read serving scheduleReads
    • Read group profileReads
    • Notify team lead of a swapChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes Church Community Builder starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

Who in our church can set up the CCB connection?

Your Master Admin, or anyone with the Edit System-Wide Settings privilege. They open System Settings > API, add an API user with a username and password, and tick its services. They send our team the API URL and login, and an admin approves the connection once in Volty.

Can we limit what Volty can see in Church Community Builder?

Yes. A CCB API user can only call the services checked on its Services tab. Tick the profile, group and serving schedule services Volty needs and leave giving and process queues unchecked. Volty then has no way to read them.

Does Volty change the serving schedule when someone cannot come?

No. Volty tells the volunteer it has passed the swap on, and drafts a note to the team lead, who finds cover. That note is a tool you switch On or set to Check with staff. The schedule in CCB is still edited by your leads.

How much does it cost to connect Church Community Builder with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Sign up for our 7-day trial. No credit card needed.
