Bib and fundraising total as RunSignup lists them

    What Volty does with RunSignup

RunSignup is registration, fundraising and race management software for running and endurance events. Volty reads RunSignup on the race director's behalf, with credentials RunSignup issues for your races. Runners ask about their bib, their corral or switching distance, and fundraisers ask how close they are to their goal, and Volty answers from their own registration.

    • The runner's own registration

Distance, bib and start wave read before Volty answers.

    • Fundraising progress

A fundraiser hears what they have raised toward their goal.

    • Race day questions

Packet pickup, parking and course details from your race information.

    • Distance switches checked

Moving a runner from the 5K to the 10K goes to the race team to approve.

    As an automation

Describe it to Volty in a sentence; it drafts the automation and an admin turns it on.

    How Volty connects to RunSignup

RunSignup's API takes an api_key and api_secret on each call. Apps that act for a race director register on RunSignup's API Keys page for OAuth credentials, and since July 2026 every API caller also registers for a caller token.

    1. 01

      Grant access to your races

The race director authorizes Volty for the races in scope through RunSignup's OAuth flow.

    2. 02

      Register the API caller

The Volty team adds RunSignup's caller registration token and secret, required on calls since July 2026.

    3. 03

      Choose what Volty reads

      Participants, events, bibs, fundraising pages.

    4. 04

      Approve and switch

An admin approves in Volty. Distance transfers start Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find a runner by name or emailReads
    • Read bib, event and start waveReads
    • Read a fundraiser's total and donorsReads
    • Transfer a runner to another eventChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes RunSignup starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

How does Volty get access to our races on RunSignup?

RunSignup lets an app act for a race director through OAuth credentials registered on its API Keys page, with calls carrying an API key and secret. Since July 2026 RunSignup also asks every API caller to register for a caller token. We handle both, and you authorize only the races in scope.

Can runners switch from the 5K to the 10K by message?

Volty checks the runner's registration and whether the 10K has spots, then proposes the transfer with the price difference. Transfers start Off, and with Check with staff the race team approves before RunSignup changes the entry.

Can charity runners check their fundraising progress?

Yes. Volty reads the runner's fundraising page and tells them what they have raised toward their goal and from how many donors. It does not change goals or move donations.

How much does it cost to connect RunSignup with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Sign up for our 7-day trial. No credit card needed.
