Timekeeping entries and budget items by cost code

    What Volty does with Rhumbix

Rhumbix is field software for self-performing contractors, covering timekeeping, production tracking and field paperwork. Volty reads timekeeping entries and budgets by cost code, so a project manager asking in team chat hears how logged hours compare with the hours budgeted for a scope. General contractors who ask how much labor went into a scope, or whether a change order is open, get the answer by email.

    • Hours against budget

    • Hours by cost code

Labor logged against a scope through a given date.

    • Change orders and caps

Whether a change order is active and its not-to-exceed amount.

    • Reads only

This connection does not edit time, budgets or change orders.

    How Volty connects to Rhumbix

Rhumbix has a public API with key-based access. An admin generates the token in the Rhumbix dashboard, and the Volty team sets Volty up with it as a custom connection.

    1. 01

      Generate a token

Company Settings, then API Integration, then + Generate New Token. Name it and create it.

    2. 02

      Mind the one-key rule

Rhumbix allows one active API key at a time and 600 requests a minute, so check no other integration needs it.

    3. 03

      Approve in Volty

      A workspace admin approves once.

    4. 04

      Set switches

Every Rhumbix tool here reads, and each can be On or Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find projectReads
    • Read timekeeping entriesReads
    • Read budget by cost codeReads
    • Read change orderReads

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes Rhumbix starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

We already connect Rhumbix to our ERP. Can Volty use the API too?

Rhumbix allows only one active API key per account at a time. If your ERP or BI tool already uses it, our team plans with you how Volty shares that access before setup, since generating a new token means deactivating the old one.

Where is the Rhumbix API token created?

A Rhumbix admin opens Company Settings, then API Integration, in the dashboard and clicks + Generate New Token. They name it and create it, which gives a company key and an API key. Our team uses those for Volty's connection.

Does Volty read T&M tickets in Rhumbix?

Not in this setup. Rhumbix's public API documents timekeeping entries, cost codes, budgets and change orders, and Volty reads those. When a GC asks whether a T&M ticket is signed, Volty hands the question to the project manager, who checks it in Rhumbix and replies in the same thread.

How much does it cost to connect Rhumbix with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
