    What Volty does with Mobilize

    Mobilize is the event and volunteer platform campaigns and advocacy groups use to fill their shifts. Our team links your Mobilize organization to Volty with an API key from Mobilize, and you decide whether Volty only reads events or can also record signups. Volunteers ask on WhatsApp or your web chat which shifts are open, and Volty answers from the event's timeslots.

    How Volty connects to Mobilize

    Mobilize issues API keys to organizations on request, so the first step goes through Mobilize itself. Our team then sets up the custom connection, and an admin in your workspace approves it once before Volty calls it.

      An admin approves the connection once. Calls go out with the key as a Bearer token.

    Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes Mobilize starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Does Mobilize give Volty an API key, or do we?

    Mobilize provides API keys to organizations on request, so your organization asks Mobilize for one. You then share it with our team for the custom connection. Some endpoints are restricted and need a further request to Mobilize support. An admin in your workspace approves the connection once before Volty makes any call.

    Can Volty sign a volunteer up for a Mobilize timeslot?

    Yes, if you turn that tool on. Mobilize's API can create an attendance for a person on an event timeslot, and Volty uses it after the volunteer picks a time in the chat. The tool starts Off. Set it to Check with staff if an organizer should confirm each signup first.

    Will Volty show volunteers events from other organizations on Mobilize?

    Volty searches the events we agree when connecting, normally your own organization's events. A volunteer asking about Saturday hears about your canvasses and phone banks, with the timeslots that still have room, and an organizer can ask the same question in team chat to see fill rates.
