    How Volty connects to Fundraise Up

    Fundraise Up has a REST API that needs API keys generated in your Dashboard, and webhooks managed under Settings > Webhooks that send signed events for donations, recurring plans, tributes and supporters.

      A Fundraise Up admin creates the key in the Dashboard and passes it to our team securely.

      Under Settings > Webhooks, an admin can point new donation events at Volty so thank-yous go out without polling.

    How does Volty get access to Fundraise Up?

    Fundraise Up's REST API needs API keys generated in your Dashboard. An admin creates one and shares it with our team, who builds the connection. If you want instant thank-yous, an admin can also add a webhook under Settings > Webhooks. A workspace admin approves the connection once in Volty.

    Does Volty use Fundraise Up webhooks?

    It can. Fundraise Up webhooks send signed requests for events across donations, recurring plans, tributes and supporters, usually within two minutes, and retry failed deliveries for several hours. Volty can use a new donation event to start a thank-you instead of checking the API on a timer.

    Can a donor pause their recurring gift by messaging Volty?

    Volty reads the recurring plan and drafts the pause for your donor care team. That request is a change, so it starts Off, and teams usually set it to Check with staff. Donors are told a person will confirm, which matters when the reason is hardship.
