    CivicPlus and Volty

Residents report potholes in a chat thread and ask when an item reaches council, and Volty files SeeClickFix requests and reads published agendas.

    What Volty does with CivicPlus

CivicPlus is local government software for websites, SeeClickFix 311 requests, agendas and recreation. Volty connects to the CivicPlus products your city uses, starting with SeeClickFix requests. A resident sends a photo of a pothole outside the library and Volty files it with Public Works, and someone asking when the Oak Avenue rezoning comes up gets the meeting date and item number.

    • Report a problem

Volty collects the location and photo, then files a SeeClickFix request.

    • Status without a phone call

Residents ask about a request number and hear where it stands.

    • When is the meeting

Dates and item numbers come from the agenda the city publishes.

    • Filing can wait for staff

Request creation starts Off, and can wait for a staff member.

    As an automation

Describe it to Volty in a sentence; it drafts the automation and an admin turns it on.

    How Volty connects to CivicPlus

CivicPlus publishes a separate API for each product, so our team scopes Volty's connection with you product by product, and your admin approves it before residents are answered.

    1. 01

      Choose the products

SeeClickFix 311 CRM is the usual start. Website modules can follow.

    2. 02

      Get the credentials

SeeClickFix uses a personal access token from a CivicPlus Account. Website API keys come from CivicPlus Support.

    3. 03

      Agree categories and routing

Which request types Volty may file, and which department each goes to.

    4. 04

      Approve and switch

Your admin approves the connection. Filing requests starts Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Look up request by numberReads
    • Read published agendaReads
    • List request categoriesReads
    • File SeeClickFix requestChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes CivicPlus starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

Which CivicPlus products can Volty connect to?

CivicPlus publishes separate APIs per product. The common starting point is SeeClickFix 311 CRM, whose API v2 takes a personal access token from a CivicPlus Account. For website modules, CivicPlus Support issues the API key, so our team scopes the connection with you product by product.

Will residents get updates when a request is closed?

SeeClickFix's APIs do not send webhooks, so Volty checks request status on a schedule instead. A daily automation can read requests closed since the last run and message each resident who reported one through Volty.

Can Volty answer about public records or legal questions?

No. Volty answers from what the city publishes and the requests it can read. Records requests, legal questions and complaints about staff are routed to the clerk or the right department with the resident's message attached.

How much does it cost to connect CivicPlus with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Sign up for our 7-day trial. No credit card needed.
