What Volty does with Cantaloupe Seed

Cantaloupe Seed is the cloud software vending, micro market and unattended retail operators use to run their machines, routes and sales. Cantaloupe does not publish a self-serve API reference, so our team arranges access to your Seed data with you and Cantaloupe and builds the custom connection from what is provided. A buyer whose snack got stuck asks for a refund and Volty checks the transaction, and a host location reporting an empty or broken machine gets a service request logged for the route.

    • Refunds checked first

The card sale and the vend result for that machine and minute are checked before staff see the request.

    • Service requests

Out-of-stock, jammed or dark machines are logged with the site, floor and machine number.

    • Hosts ask about their machines

An office manager asks when the next fill is and hears the route day.

    • Refunds wait for approval

Volty never refunds a card. It proposes the amount and the sale, and your team issues it.

VoltyHi Gloria, your break room is on Thursday's route, and I've flagged the empty cooler for the driver so drinks are filled first.

How Volty connects to Cantaloupe Seed

Cantaloupe describes its Seed API as connecting POS systems to its cloud for cashless payments and collecting sales into reports, without a public reference or self-serve keys. Access to your data is arranged through Cantaloupe first.

    1. 01

      Talk to Cantaloupe

Your operator account asks Cantaloupe what data access it can provide for sales, machines and routes.

    2. 02

      Scope it with our team

We agree what Volty reads and where service and refund requests should land.

    3. 03

      Approve the connection

An admin approves it once in Volty.

    4. 04

      Set the request tools

Service and refund requests start Off. Check with staff is the usual setting.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find a site and machineReads
    • Read a machine's transactionsReads
    • Read the next route visitReads
    • Raise a service requestChanges
    • Raise a refund requestChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes Cantaloupe Seed starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

Does Cantaloupe Seed have an API Volty can use?

Cantaloupe describes a Seed API for connecting POS systems to its cloud for cashless payments and sales reporting, but it does not publish a self-serve reference. Your operator account arranges data access with Cantaloupe, then our team builds the custom connection from it, and an admin approves it in Volty.

Will Volty refund a buyer's card for a failed vend?

No. Volty finds the sale for that machine and time and checks whether the vend failed, then sends a refund request with the amount and card ending to your team. A colleague issues the refund through your normal process.

Can host locations report a problem without calling dispatch?

Yes. An office manager can message on WhatsApp, by email or through a QR code on the machine. Volty reads the site's next route visit, logs the request for the driver, and tells the host which day to expect the fix or fill.

How much does it cost to connect Cantaloupe Seed with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
