    PartsTech and Volty

Independent repair shops using PartsTech let advisors ask Volty for part prices and local stock across their suppliers, and hand owners' pickup questions to the advisor.

    What Volty does with PartsTech

PartsTech is an online marketplace where auto repair shops search and order parts from their suppliers. Volty uses the PartsTech username and API key your shop holds, the same pair shop software uses to reach PartsTech. Service advisors ask Volty what a part costs and which supplier has it in stock, and a car owner asking when their car will be ready is handed to their advisor.

    • Price and stock

Volty searches your linked suppliers for price and local inventory.

    • Owners handed to the advisor

A pickup-time question goes to the advisor on the job.

    • Advisors ask in the team chat

A service advisor asks Volty instead of searching every supplier.

    • No order without the advisor

Placing a parts order starts Off; with Check with staff, the advisor confirms the supplier.

Any idea when my truck will be done today?
VoltyHi Bill, I've asked Ray, your service advisor, to check on your F-150 and give you a time.
RayHi Bill, the brake parts are on their way from Southside. I expect it ready by about 4pm and will text you when it's done.

    How Volty connects to PartsTech

Each shop copies its PartsTech username and API key from its PartsTech account profile; shop software uses the same pair. Volty uses your shop's pair, with the suppliers you already link.

    1. 01

      Find the shop's API key

Your PartsTech username and API key, not the password.

    2. 02

      Confirm linked suppliers

Volty quotes only the suppliers your shop has connected in PartsTech.

    3. 03

      Approve in Volty

An admin approves the connection once.

    4. 04

      Keep ordering checked

      Placing an order starts Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Search parts for a VIN or vehicleReads
    • Compare supplier price and stockReads
    • Place the parts orderChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes PartsTech starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

What do we need from PartsTech to connect?

Your shop's PartsTech username and API key, which you copy from your PartsTech account profile and which are separate from your login password. Shop management software uses the same pair, and each extra location has its own, so multi-location shops connect each one.

    Which suppliers will Volty quote?

Only the suppliers your shop has already linked in PartsTech, at the prices and stock levels PartsTech shows your account for that vehicle. Volty does not add suppliers, change your accounts with them or negotiate pricing.

Can car owners order their own parts through Volty?

No. Parts orders are placed by your shop, and placing one is a staff tool that starts Off. When an owner asks when their car will be ready, Volty hands the question to the service advisor on the job, who replies with a time.

How much does it cost to connect PartsTech with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
