    MarketMan and Volty

Kitchen managers on MarketMan ask Volty what is below par before an order cutoff, and Volty drafts the purchase order from MarketMan counts and vendor items for approval.

    What Volty does with MarketMan

MarketMan is the inventory management and purchasing software many restaurants use to count stock and order from suppliers. MarketMan issues API partner credentials, and Volty uses them to read inventory counts, items, vendors and orders for the locations you authorize. A kitchen manager asks Volty in team chat what is below par and Volty proposes the purchase order, and a supplier emailing about an order hears what was ordered and when it is due.

    • What is below par

Volty reads on-hand counts against par levels by item.

    • Purchase orders proposed

A reorder becomes a MarketMan order for a manager to approve.

    • Supplier questions

A supplier asking about an order hears its items and date.

    • Isaiah signs off the quantities

Volty drafts each supplier's order, and it is placed in MarketMan only after the kitchen manager approves.

    How Volty connects to MarketMan

MarketMan issues API partner credentials rather than a self-serve key, and its docs tell customers to contact their MarketMan customer manager for access. Our team builds the custom connection on those, and an admin approves it in Volty.

    1. 01

      Request partner credentials

We ask your MarketMan customer manager, with you, for an API key and password for Volty.

    2. 02

      Authorize the locations

MarketMan lists the accounts the credentials can reach, so you choose which kitchens Volty sees.

    3. 03

      Approve in Volty

An admin approves the connection once. Create purchase order starts Off.

    4. 04

      Keep within the daily limit

MarketMan allows 500 API calls a day per consumer, so Volty reads counts in batches, not item by item.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Read counts against parReads
    • Look up a purchase orderReads
    • Read vendor item pricesReads
    • Draft a purchase orderChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes MarketMan starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

How does MarketMan grant API access?

MarketMan issues an API partner key and password, and its docs tell customers without access to contact their MarketMan customer manager. We arrange that with you, set up the custom connection for the locations agreed, and an admin approves it in Volty.

Does Volty send the purchase order to the vendor?

Volty can draft the order in MarketMan from the items below par. Creating it is a change, so the tool starts Off, and most kitchens keep it on Check with staff so the manager approves the quantities before the order is placed.

Can a supplier ask Volty about an invoice?

If documents are shared, Volty reads the invoice MarketMan holds for that location and says what it shows. Disputes and credits go to the person who handles purchasing.

How much does it cost to connect MarketMan with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
