What Volty does with MCP server

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for giving an AI agent a system's tools. An admin connects any MCP server to Volty by its https address, with a sign-in, a key or no credential, whichever the server asks for. Volty lists the server's tools, and each one gets its own switch, so the admin decides what Volty may call.

    • Any server by address

A vendor's hosted MCP server or one your developers run.

    • Sign-in, key or open

Volty detects how the server signs in, and a key goes on a secure card.

    • One switch per tool

Off, On, or Check with staff, for every tool the server lists.

    • Each colleague as themselves

A server can be connected per person, so each one signs in with their own account.

    A colleague asks

Sales asks Volty about a booking in team chat.

    As an automation

Describe it to Volty in a sentence; it drafts the automation and an admin turns it on.

    Adding an MCP server

    1. When

      Paste the address

      Any https MCP server

    2. Step 1

Volty checks how it signs in

      Sign-in, key or none

    3. Step 2

      Lists its tools

      Each with its own switch

    4. Step 3

      Uses them in conversations

      Inside the switches

Volty calls only the tools an admin switched on.

How Volty connects to MCP server

An admin adds the server on the Sources page by its address. Volty reads the server's tools, and the switches decide which ones it may call.

    1. 01

      Paste the address

      The server's https address.

    2. 02

Sign in or add the key

A key goes on a secure card, never into a chat.

    3. 03

      Set the switches

Off, On, or Check with staff, per tool.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Your server's read toolsReads
    • Your server's change toolsChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes MCP server starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

How does Volty sign in to an MCP server?

Volty checks what the server asks for when the address is added: a sign-in, an API key, or nothing. A key goes on a secure card and never into a chat.

Can each colleague connect with their own account?

Yes. A server can be connected once for the whole workspace, or per person, so each colleague signs in as themselves and Volty sees what they can see.

How much does it cost to connect an MCP server with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Sign up for our 7-day trial. No credit card needed.
