What Volty does with Aurora Solar

Aurora Solar is design and proposal software solar installers use to model a roof, size a system and send a proposal. Volty reads the design and proposal on a homeowner's Aurora project, so questions about panel count, system size or the battery option get a reply the same evening. Sales managers ask Volty which proposals have not been signed.

    • System answers

Panel count, kW and options A and B, read from the design.

    • Unsigned proposals

Sales hears which homeowners have gone quiet.

    • Quote requests captured

An address and a power bill become a draft Aurora project.

    • Restricted keys

Aurora's restricted keys can limit Volty to projects with a tag.

    As an automation

Describe it to Volty in a sentence; it drafts the automation and an admin turns it on.

How Volty connects to Aurora Solar

Aurora has a REST API with bearer tokens, a sandbox and webhooks for events such as project status changes and viewed web proposals. A tenant admin creates the API token, and the Volty team sets Volty up with it as a custom connection.

    1. 01

Create a token on API Tokens

A tenant admin creates it in Aurora. Choose a restricted key to scope Volty to projects with a tag.

    2. 02

      Try it in sandbox first

Aurora issues sandbox and production keys separately, so the setup is tested before live projects.

    3. 03

      Approve Volty's use

An admin in Volty approves it once.

    4. 04

      Switch tools on

Reading the design can be On. Creating projects starts Off.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Find projectReads
    • Read design and system sizeReads
    • Read proposal statusReads
    • Create projectChanges

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes Aurora Solar starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

Can we limit Volty to some Aurora Solar projects?

Yes. Aurora's API has standard keys, one per tenant, and restricted keys scoped to projects by tag. A tenant admin creates either on the API Tokens screen. With a restricted key, Volty only reads projects carrying the tag you choose, such as residential sales.

Does Volty read the price on an Aurora proposal?

If you agree to share proposals, yes. In the example Volty gives the cash price for each option. You can keep pricing out, and Volty will send the homeowner to their designer for numbers.

Can Volty notice when a homeowner opens their proposal?

Aurora sends webhooks for events including a viewed web proposal and an agreement status change. Our team can set Volty up to receive the ones you want, for example to tell a rep in team chat when a proposal is opened.

How much does it cost to connect Aurora Solar with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
