What is WhatsApp Coexistence?
WhatsApp Coexistence lets you use your existing WhatsApp Business App and Volty together on the same number, without disconnecting or migrating your number.
When you connect your WhatsApp Business App number to Volty via Coexistence, Volty accesses it through the WhatsApp Business API. This allows you to:
Critical Warning: 14-Day Disconnection Rule
If you fail to open the WhatsApp Business App for more than 14 days, the connection may expire and require reconnection.
This is the most important limitation to understand. To maintain your Coexistence connection:
✅ Open your WhatsApp Business App at least once every 14 days
If the connection expires:
Set a recurring reminder to open your WhatsApp Business App weekly to avoid any issues.
Key Limitations
1. Country Availability
Coexistence is currently available only in selected countries. Not all regions support this feature. Check with the Volty team to confirm availability in your location.

Some advanced WhatsApp Business App features may be unavailable after connecting through Coexistence. These include certain app-specific automations and settings that don't translate to the Cloud API.
5. Offboarding Process
Removing or offboarding must be done directly in the WhatsApp Business App, not from Volty. If you need to disconnect:
1. Open the WhatsApp Business App on your phone
2. Go to Settings > Account > Business Platform
3. Tap the connected platform
4. Tap Disconnect to confirm

Best Practices for Coexistence
To make the most of WhatsApp Coexistence and avoid issues:
Keep your app active
Open your WhatsApp Business App at least once every 14 days. Set a weekly reminder to be safe.
Choose where imported chats go
When you connect the number to Volty, pick the inbox the imported chats land in, such as a team inbox, so every conversation has someone to follow it up.
Set up auto top-up
Configure auto top-up for WhatsApp messaging fees during setup to avoid message delivery interruptions.
Test automations safely
Start with small-scale automation flows before applying rules to all contacts. Coexistence can behave differently than full API migration.
Monitor sync status
Regularly check that contacts and chats are syncing correctly.
