    RXNT and Volty

Practices on RXNT have Volty match patients from RXNT demographics, answer front-desk questions, and send each visit request to the right staff member by name.

VoltyHappy to help, Ethan. What's your date of birth, so I can find your record?

    What Volty does with RXNT

RXNT is cloud EHR, e-prescribing, practice management and billing software for medical practices. RXNT's published API is its Clinical Data API, and Volty uses only the demographics in it: name, date of birth and contact details, to match the person writing to the right RXNT patient. Volty then answers what any receptionist would, such as office hours, which plans the practice takes and what to bring, and hands visit requests to your front desk with the patient already identified and their preferred days attached.

    • Matched to the RXNT patient

Name, date of birth and phone are checked against RXNT demographics.

    • Visit requests to the front desk

Volty collects the preferred days and hands the request to a named person.

    • Receptionist answers from your FAQ

Hours, parking, accepted plans and first-visit paperwork come from what your practice writes down.

    • Nothing clinical in chat

Volty tells a patient who starts on health details that it cannot discuss them, and offers a visit or a call from staff.

Do you take Aetna? And what should I bring to my first appointment on Friday?
VoltyHi Priya, the practice is in network with Aetna PPO and HMO plans. Please bring your insurance card and a photo ID, and arrive 15 minutes early to check in at the Elm Street entrance. Parking is free in the lot behind the building.
    Great, thank you

    As an automation

Describe it to Volty in a sentence; it drafts the automation and an admin turns it on.

    How Volty connects to RXNT

RXNT's Clinical Data API returns patient records, demographics included. A third party registers by emailing RXNT support, and after verification RXNT issues login credentials that the app exchanges for a time-limited token. RXNT's documentation for it on GitHub has been archived since 2021, so our team confirms with RXNT that it is still the route before building anything.

    1. 01

      Register with RXNT support

Our team and your practice request Clinical Data API credentials by email.

    2. 02

      Use demographics only

Volty reads name, date of birth and contact details to match patients. The rest of the record stays out.

    3. 03

      Approve in Volty

Your admin approves the custom connection once.

    4. 04

      Name who gets each request

Front desk contacts for visit requests and anything Volty should not answer.

    The tools Volty gets

Each one is a switch on the Sources page in Volty.

    • Match a patient by RXNT demographicsReads

Reading tools can be turned on straight away. Anything that changes RXNT starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague.

    Common questions

Does RXNT have an API Volty can use?

RXNT publishes a Clinical Data API, and third parties register for it by emailing RXNT support. That published API does not cover scheduling, so Volty uses only its demographics to identify the patient, and our team confirms with RXNT and your practice what can be reached before any tool is turned on.

Will Volty read anything beyond who the patient is?

No. The connection reads name, date of birth and contact details for matching and nothing else, and anything clinical is handed to staff without Volty answering it. Volty is for scheduling and front-desk questions, not for health records, and does not sign a BAA.

Can patients move a visit by replying to a reminder?

They can ask. Volty matches the patient in RXNT from their name and date of birth, takes the time they would prefer, and hands the request to your front desk, who confirms the new time in RXNT and replies in the same thread.

How much does it cost to connect RXNT with Volty?

Every Volty plan includes seats, active contacts and AI credits and starts with a free 7-day trial, and the plan prices are on voltade.com/pricing. Meta bills message charges separately for WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.
