A message format Meta reviews and approves before you can use it, with placeholders for details such as a name or an order number. Templates are the only messages you can send outside a customer's 24-hour window, and each one is filed under marketing, utility or authentication, which sets its price.

A template that promotes something: an offer, a launch, a reminder to come back. It is charged on every delivery at the market's marketing rate, usually the highest per message, and has no volume tiers or free allowance.

A template about something the customer already started, such as an order update, a booking confirmation or a receipt. It is charged on every delivery, including inside an open 24-hour window since October 1, 2026, and gets cheaper in Meta's volume tiers.

A template that carries a one-time password or login code. Meta prices it the same as utility in every market on its card, with its own volume tiers.

In some markets, including India, Indonesia and Malaysia, Meta charges a higher rate for authentication codes a business based in another country sends to numbers there. The calculator shows that row only for markets where Meta sets a different rate.

Per message delivered, at the rate for its category and the recipient's country: templates on every delivery, and service replies once the free 1,000 a month on a number are used. Messages that fail to deliver are not charged.

The recipient's. Meta reads the country calling code of the number you send to, not where your business is. A country Meta does not price on its own is billed at its regional rate, such as Rest of Asia Pacific or Rest of Western Europe, which the calculator lists as its own entries.

For utility and authentication, yes. Meta sets volume tiers per market and category: once a month's messages pass a tier's threshold, the messages above it are charged at that tier's lower rate, and the count resets each month. The calculator applies Meta's own tier tables for the card effective October 1, 2026. Marketing and service messages have no volume tiers.

The calculator shows US dollars by default, from Meta's US dollar card. Singapore in Singapore dollars is read from Meta's own Singapore dollar card, and other currencies are converted at an approximate rate, so treat them as a guide to what your account is billed.
