Best Practices for a Successful Application

Start with critical roles - focus on roles that are bottlenecks, high turnover, or low value that can be upgraded meaningfully

Work with the consultant early to help shape a strong proposal and maximise viability and impact

Do not commit or pay before approval - that creates disqualification risk

Define clear deliverables and KPIs - map before vs after job scopes, productivity metrics, role responsibilities

Collect evidence and documentation - role descriptions, workflows, staff feedback, time studies

Phase your redesigns - if multiple roles or functions, do them in stages ensuring each delivers clear value

Prepare for change management - plan communications, training, and staff engagement as roles shift

Track outcomes - measure how redesign affects output, productivity, retention, employee satisfaction

Keep within the S$30,000 cap - map projects to avoid overspending across multiple applications

    Sample Use Cases & Scenarios

Resolving workforce challenges like staff retention, role clarity, stagnation, or mismatches between business needs and roles
Expanding narrow or repetitive roles to include higher-value tasks
Reallocating automated work and raising attractiveness of roles
Driving productivity improvement by aligning roles with updated business processes and technologies
Example: HSC Pipe Engineering redesigned HR roles to include more strategic responsibilities and digital work
Example: Henderson Security Services revised Security Officer roles to include customer service functions

    Additional Information

Recent and Upcoming Enhancements: Under the Enterprise Workforce Transformation Package (EWTP) announced in Budget 2025, job redesign support is being enhanced: • The funding cap will be raised beyond the current S$30,000 • The support rate may increase up to 70% for SMEs/non-SMEs depending on the enhancement • The scope of support will expand beyond consulting costs to include training for line managers/HR teams, change management, and possibly tool/technology adoption for job redesign Funding Mode: Reimbursement basis - you pay for the consultancy first, then claim after delivering the project. Stacking with SFEC: After getting funding from PSG-JR, eligible enterprises can use the SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC) to help defray out-of-pocket (OOP) costs (the portion you must bear). Benefits: Redesigning jobs helps resolve workforce challenges while creating more attractive, skilled roles that aid recruitment and retention. It drives productivity improvement by aligning roles with updated business processes and technologies.
