Change Requests / Revisions
Claim Process
EDG works on a reimbursement basis - you first incur costs then file claims
Submit interim claims (for large projects) or final claim (closing the project)
In BGP, go to Claims → File New Claim under the approved project
Fill in actual costs per category and upload supporting documents: invoices, receipts, proof of payment, project reports
For final claim, you need an auditor to certify the incurred costs
Submit the claim and await approval for reimbursement to your company's bank account
Claims must usually be submitted within 6 months after project completion
Important Reminder
Claims must typically be submitted within 6 months of project completion.
Common Reasons for Rejection
Best Practices for a Successful Application
Start with a strong, clear project narrative - Emphasise transformation, business impact, ROI, and measurable KPIs
Use certified consultants - Engage SAC-accredited consultants (TR 43 / SS 680) if project involves strategic work
Get multiple quotations - Show due diligence in vendor selection; gives credibility to cost estimates
Keep detailed records - Maintain invoice, payment proof, project deliverables, progress reports, training records
Stick to approved scope - Avoid deviations unless absolutely necessary — always file change requests for adjustments
Break large projects into phases - Allows intermediate claims and reduces risk
Monitor project timeline carefully - Ensure you hit milestones and do not jeopardize the claim period
Engage an auditor early - For final claims, ensure you know their requirements and timelines
Match project timing with business cycles - Don't pick a busy season or when resources are stretched
Leverage existing grants / synergy - Understand how EDG can complement PSG, MRA, or other schemes, but avoid overlap
Seek advisory / consultancy help - Many firms specialise in grant writing and can help design stronger applications
Comparison: EDG vs PSG vs MRA
| Grant | Purpose / Focus | Support Rate | Type of Projects Allowed |
|---|---|---|---|
| EDG | Capability upgrading, innovation, transformation, overseas expansion | Up to 50% (SMEs), enhanced for sustainability up to 70% | Custom projects with proposals and evaluation |
| PSG | Adoption of pre-scoped IT / equipment / solution packages | Up to 50% (sometimes higher depending on sector) | Off-the-shelf productivity solutions already on approved list |
| MRA | Support first steps into overseas markets | Up to 50% for internationalisation expenses | Overseas marketing, trade fairs, overseas set-up, etc. |
Each grant has its own strengths and constraints; many companies leverage more than one as part of their transformation roadmap.
