WhatsApp QR Code Not Working During Envoy Setup
You're setting up your WhatsApp Business channel in Envoy by scanning a QR code, but the scan fails or the connection doesn't complete.
QR Code Expired
QR codes expire quickly. Refresh the Envoy setup page to generate a new one, then scan within 30 seconds.
Camera Issues
- Ensure good lighting
- Clean the phone camera lens
- Increase screen brightness on the device showing the QR code
WhatsApp Not Updated
Older WhatsApp versions may not support the current linking flow. Update WhatsApp to the latest version from your app store.
Too Many Linked Devices
WhatsApp limits linked devices to 4. Go to WhatsApp > Settings > Linked Devices and remove one you no longer use, then try again.
Network Issues
Both the phone and the device running Envoy need internet access. Try switching between WiFi and mobile data on the phone.
This is a different issue: likely a session conflict or token problem, not a QR code problem. See our disconnection guide.
If you see a specific error message after the scan (e.g., "cannot link device," account restrictions), note the exact error and contact support. Some account-level restrictions block device linking entirely.
