    WhatsApp Error: Session Has Expired

This error occurs when your Facebook access token has expired and needs to be refreshed through reauthorization.

    Error Message

"Error validating access token: Session has expired. The current time is..."

    Why This Happens

Facebook access tokens have expiration periods for security reasons. This error occurs when:

  1. Your Facebook session has naturally expired
  2. You logged out of Facebook on another device
  3. Facebook's security systems required a session refresh
  4. The admin account password was changed
  5. Two-factor authentication was updated

  6. How to Fix This Error

    Reauthorize with Facebook

    1. Go to Settings > Channels > WhatsApp

    2. Click Reauthorize

    3. Click Continue with Facebook

    4. Log in with the account that has Meta admin/full control access

    5. Complete any security verification if prompted

    6. Grant all requested permissions

Once complete, your WhatsApp Business API connection will have a fresh access token.

    Prevention Tips

  7. Use a Facebook account with two-factor authentication enabled
  8. Avoid logging out of Facebook on the admin device
  9. Check your WhatsApp channel status regularly
  10. Set up a reminder to check connection status monthly
