WhatsApp integration
Connect WESS to WhatsApp
When salon and spa customers ask on WhatsApp for a slot with their usual stylist, staff have to check WESS, reply with the free times and enter the booking by hand. This page compares three ways to connect WhatsApp to WESS.
Volty connects to WESS. Our team connects WESS to your workspace as a custom connection, and an admin in your workspace approves it once before Volty uses it.

What a salon runs with WESS and WhatsApp connected
- Find a slot with a named stylist A regular asks for Saturday afternoon with her usual stylist. Once WESS is connected, Volty checks that stylist's free times and offers them as buttons.
- Answer package questions Once WESS is connected, a customer who asks how many sessions are left on her package gets the answer in the chat.
- Hand over the consultations Once WESS is connected, a colour correction or a skin concern goes to a named member of staff, who answers in the same inbox.
Three ways to connect WESS to WhatsApp
WESS's own tools
WESS WhatsApp Connect sends appointment reminders, booking confirmations, cancellations, invoices and receipts from the salon's own WhatsApp Business number, and shows in WESS whether each message was sent. It covers the operational notifications the salon selects. For bookings, WESS's Consumer Web App lets customers book at any hour, choose a therapist or stylist, and pay by card or PayNow.
Best for salons where notifications and a booking link cover what customers need, and staff answer the rest of the WhatsApp messages themselves.
Build it yourself
WESS publishes no public API documentation. WESS's API address asks businesses to contact WESS for more information, and WESS's Pro+ package names third-party integration. A connection starts with access arranged with WESS, then needs a WhatsApp Business Platform account on Meta's Cloud API, a server that receives Meta's webhooks, and code that reads and writes appointments in WESS.
What the salon then owns:
- The WESS side Whatever access WESS agrees to, and keeping the code current when WESS changes it.
- The 24-hour window Meta allows free-form replies for 24 hours after the customer's last message. A reminder outside that window must be a template Meta has approved.
- Duplicates and retries Meta retries an undelivered webhook for up to 7 days, so the same message can arrive twice.
- Customer data What a WESS connection reads and writes is agreed with you before it is connected, and the salon stays the data controller under Singapore's PDPA.
Best for salons where WESS has agreed to API access and a developer can build and run the connection.
Use a workflow tool
Zapier, n8n and Make each have a WhatsApp app on Meta's Cloud API that receives messages and sends replies and templates. None of them lists a WESS app, so a flow reaches WESS only through API access arranged with WESS, as HTTP calls you write and maintain. The tools run automations; people read and answer the conversations in another app.
Zapier starts at US$19.99 a month billed annually for 750 tasks, and its WhatsApp Business app needs a paid plan. n8n Cloud starts at €20 a month billed annually for 2,500 executions, and n8n is free to self-host. Make starts at US$9 a month billed annually for 10,000 credits.
Best for salons that already have API access from WESS and want one fixed flow.
Volty is an AI agent that answers customers on WhatsApp and Outlook email from one shared inbox. Our team connects WESS to your workspace as a custom connection, and Volty's reads and writes in WESS are agreed with you when it is connected. The table compares Volty with the three ways above.
