Patients book on WhatsApp, and the booking lands in Plato
For clinics that run on Plato: Volty answers patients on your WhatsApp number, books, moves and confirms their appointments in Plato, and passes anything medical to your front desk.
Updated
A clinic's WhatsApp, screen by screen
A patient books at 9.40pm
Volty finds the patient in Plato by their WhatsApp number, offers three available slots as buttons and books the one they choose.

A change inside the notice period
Inside the clinic's notice period, Volty hands a change to your front desk as a to-do and informs the patient a colleague will confirm.

A cancellation, confirmed by the patient
Before Volty cancels in Plato, the patient taps to confirm. A clinic that keeps a cancelled calendar gets the appointment moved there, so the history stays in Plato.

Tomorrow's reminders at 9am
An automation sends each patient with an appointment tomorrow a reminder on WhatsApp. When a patient with two bookings replies, Volty asks which one they mean.

A price question and a medical question
Volty answers prices from the price list the clinic uploaded. A question about a patient's treatment goes to a person.

The front desk's view
Your front desk sees the Plato card beside each chat, the to-dos Volty has handed over, and Volty's drafts waiting to be sent.

What Volty does and what your front desk does
Volty
- Answers patients on your WhatsApp number, including after hours.
- Finds the patient in Plato by their WhatsApp number.
- Offers free slots inside your opening hours and booking rules, then books, moves, confirms or cancels in Plato.
- Sends appointment reminders and works out which booking a reply is about.
- Answers prices and clinic policies from the files you upload.
Your front desk
- Answers medical questions and anything else your instructions keep for dedicated staff.
- Changes bookings inside your notice period.
- Handles discounts, vouchers and packages.
- Reads Volty's drafts and sends them, for as long as you keep draft mode on.
When a person takes over
Volty passes a conversation to someone on your team, and alerts them on WhatsApp. Volty can also ask your staff a question with one-tap answers when it is unsure before following up with the patient. Any reply from your team pauses Volty in that conversation for 30 minutes, and each further reply extends the pause.
Plato and Volty
Volty connects to Plato directly.
Volty reads
- the patient, found by their WhatsApp number
- the patient's appointments
- free slots, inside your opening hours
- the patient's invoices, only when the patient asks about one
Volty writes
- a booking
- a rescheduled appointment
- a confirmation
- a cancellation, after the patient taps to confirm
Volty keeps a copy of your appointments that refreshes every five minutes and whenever Plato reports a change. That copy holds each patient's name, phone numbers and chart number. The clinic's notes, identity numbers and dates of birth stay in Plato. Volty keeps no copy of them.
Secure by default
- Volty starts in draft mode. Every reply waits for someone on your team to send it, until you choose to let Volty answer on its own.
- Volty connects only to the systems an admin approves.
- When someone on your team tells Volty a rule, Volty applies it at once, with a card and a Revert where it was asked. Changes to Volty's written instructions wait for an admin to approve them.
