From 1 October, Meta will charge for WhatsApp Business Platform replies beyond the monthly free allowance. In your first year, Voltade deducts Meta's charges for replies sent by Volty AI from your monthly Volty bill.
From 1 October 2026 Meta starts charging for customer-service replies sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform. The charge applies after the first 1,000 delivered service messages each month on a business phone number. In Singapore each additional service reply costs S$0.0205.
If your team handles hundreds of WhatsApp enquiries, that is a new charge on top of the time spent answering them.
Volty can take those enquiries off your team's hands. It answers routine questions, helps organise and follow up on customer conversations, and brings in a person when needed. During your first year on Volty, Voltade deducts the Meta charges for chargeable service replies sent by Volty AI from your monthly Volty bill.
Meta still charges for the messages. The deduction appears on your Volty bill.
What will the new charges cost?
Each business phone number gets 1,000 free delivered service messages per month. After that, Meta charges for each service message delivered. Replies sent by your staff, Volty and other tools all draw from the same free allowance on that number. Unused free messages do not carry over.
For a Singapore business using one number:
| Service replies delivered in a month | Replies charged by Meta | Meta charge at S$0.0205 each |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | 0 | S$0 |
| 2,000 | 1,000 | S$20.50 |
| 5,000 | 4,000 | S$82.00 |
| 7,500 | 6,500 | S$133.25 |
These figures count replies your business sends, not incoming enquiries. One customer may receive several replies during a conversation.

How the deduction works on Volty's replies
Say your business delivers 5,000 service replies in a month. The first 1,000 are free, leaving 4,000 chargeable replies. At the Singapore rate, Meta charges S$82.00.
If Volty AI sent all 4,000 chargeable replies, Voltade deducts S$82.00 from your monthly Volty bill during your first year. Your Meta charge remains S$82.00. Your Volty bill is reduced by the same amount.
Your Volty subscription remains payable. The deduction applies to chargeable service replies sent by Volty AI, rather than replies typed by staff or sent by another tool.
The bigger question is what happens to the work behind those 5,000 replies.
A busy inbox needs more than a fast answer
A customer asks whether you deliver on Sundays. Another sends a voice note about an order. Someone else sends a photo of the part they need. Your sales team is working through quotation requests while new messages continue to arrive.
Volty can read customer messages, including photos, voice notes and documents, and answer routine questions using the information you give it about your business. It works around the clock, so customers can get a response while your team is busy or after closing time.
When an answer depends on information in another system, Volty can be connected to the tools your business already uses. Those include Google Drive, Docs and Sheets, Shopify, Plato Medical and Microsoft Outlook, plus any system with an MCP server or an API key. Our integrations page carries the full list. Volty can check an order status or refer to your price list before replying, where those connections have been set up. Your team does not have to switch between WhatsApp and another app just to find the answer.
And when a customer needs personal attention, your team can take over with the conversation history in the shared inbox. You decide whether Volty sends replies automatically or prepares them for a person to review first.
The work does not end when you reply
An answered enquiry may still need a quotation, a follow-up or a place in your customer records.
Volty can help keep track of who enquired, what they asked and which conversations still need attention. You can describe a repetitive task in plain English, such as "Remind the person handling an enquiry if the customer has been waiting 30 minutes" or "Follow up on quotations that have gone quiet." Volty can turn those instructions into automations for your team to review.
If your team needs a simple way to see that work, Volty can also create a mini-app, such as a lead board or quotation tracker. You review it before making it available to your team.
These tools grow out of the same WhatsApp conversations. The aim is to help your team answer the message and keep the customer's request moving.
What the first-year deduction applies to
| Message or cost | Deducted from your Volty bill? |
|---|---|
| Meta charge for a chargeable service reply sent by Volty AI | Yes, during your first year on Volty |
| Service reply within the number's first 1,000 free messages that month | No deduction needed. Meta does not charge for it |
| Reply typed by a staff member | No |
| Reply sent by another tool | No |
| Utility, marketing or authentication template | No |
| Volty subscription | Still payable |
Meta's charge and the Volty bill deduction are separate. After your first year on Volty the deduction ends, and applicable Meta charges and your Volty subscription continue.
What to do before 1 October
Check your reply volume. Look at delivered service messages for each WhatsApp Business Platform number. Count the replies your business sends, rather than only the enquiries it receives.
Check your payment setup. Meta's notice on the pricing update states that a business needs a payment method for its messaging account. Without one, Meta stops delivering chargeable service messages once the free allowance is used. Check your billing arrangement before 1 October, whether you manage it directly or through a provider.
Look at what your team answers repeatedly. Common questions, order checks and quotation enquiries are a useful starting point for deciding what Volty can handle and where a person stays involved.

Common questions
Does this affect the regular WhatsApp Business app?
This pricing change concerns messages sent through the WhatsApp Business Platform, also called the API. If your team only uses the standalone WhatsApp Business app, check which product and billing arrangement you use before applying the figures above.
Will my total WhatsApp and Volty cost be S$0?
No. Meta charges for billable messages, and your Volty subscription remains payable. During your first year, Voltade deducts the Meta charges for chargeable service replies sent by Volty AI from your monthly Volty bill.
What if my staff reply on the same number?
Staff and Volty replies share that number's 1,000 free service messages each month. What Meta charges for chargeable service replies sent by Volty AI is deducted from your monthly Volty bill in your first year. Chargeable staff replies remain outside it.
What if we send fewer than 1,000 service replies a month?
Meta does not charge for service replies within that number's monthly free allowance, so there is no new service-reply charge to deduct. Volty can still help your team answer enquiries, keep conversations organised and follow up with customers.
