# What is the EDG grant?

The Enterprise Development Grant (EDG) supports Singapore businesses in capability building, innovation, and market access, covering up to 50% of project costs, with higher support for qualifying SMEs.

## How EDG differs from PSG.

PSG is for adopting pre-approved solutions off a list. EDG is for custom projects: building something new or transforming existing operations. EDG covers consultancy, development, and implementation costs for projects that don't fit a pre-approved category. It's the grant for businesses that need a bespoke solution, not a product off the shelf.

## What EDG covers.

Three pillars: (1) Core Capabilities: business strategy, HR, financial management. (2) Innovation and Productivity: custom software development, AI implementation, process redesign. (3) Market Access: internationalisation, branding. For AI projects, EDG typically falls under Innovation and Productivity. The grant covers third-party consultancy and development costs.

## Who qualifies and how to apply.

Business must be registered and operating in Singapore. The project must have clear business impact and measurable outcomes. Applications go through the Business Grants Portal with a detailed project plan. EDG has a longer evaluation process than PSG (8-12 weeks) and requires more documentation, but it covers larger, more complex projects that PSG doesn't support.
