Patients in these practices usually want their own physician. Volty reads the patient's usual doctor and that doctor's open times through Elation's Scheduling API, offers the soonest, and books it when the patient says yes. A practice admin opens Settings, then API Access, and generates OAuth client credentials, choosing API 2.0 or FHIR R4; that choice cannot be changed later, and the client secret is shown once. Anything that changes Elation Health starts Off, and once on it can be set to check with staff, so each change waits for a colleague. ## Common questions ### Where do we generate Elation API credentials? A practice admin opens Settings and then API Access in Elation and generates client credentials. Elation asks you to pick API 2.0 or FHIR R4 there, and the choice is permanent; this connection uses API 2.0 for the Scheduling API. Save the client secret, because Elation shows it once. ### Will Volty book patients with a different physician? Volty looks up the patient's usual physician first and offers that doctor's openings. If there is nothing soon enough, it can offer another physician only when you allow it. Every booking waits for the patient to confirm the time. ### Does Volty read anything from the patient's chart? No. The connection uses Elation's Scheduling API for patients, physicians and appointments, at a few calls per conversation, well inside Elation's limit of about 3 calls a second per credential. Volty is for scheduling and front-desk questions, not for health records, and does not sign a BAA. ### How much does it cost to connect Elation Health with Volty?
