    WhatsApp API Permission Error (#3) in Envoy

    Messages fail with: "(#3) Application does not have the API granular permission to make this call."

  1. In Envoy, go to Settings > Channels > WhatsApp

  2. Click Reauthorize

  3. Log in with the admin Facebook account
    4. 4
  4. Grant ALL requested permissions. This is the critical step. If you skip or decline any permission, this error will persist.

  5. Test by sending a message

    6. Verify permissions directly in Meta:

  6. Go to Meta Business Suite > Settings > Business Settings

  7. Click Accounts > WhatsApp Accounts
    8. 3
  8. Check that your connected app has full permissions
    9. 4
  9. The required scopes are: whatsapp_business_messaging, whatsapp_business_management, business_management

    10. This error often appears after Meta updates their permission requirements. Your existing token may lack a newly required scope. Reauthorising generates a fresh token with all current scopes.
