WhatsApp Phone Number Already Registered with Another Platform
During Envoy onboarding, you see: "This phone number is already registered with the INBOX product."
This means your number is still connected to another WhatsApp Business API platform. (Wati, Respond.io, Trengo, etc.)
Step 1: Disconnect from the Current Platform
Step 2: Wait for Release
After disconnecting, wait 5-10 minutes for Meta to release the number from the old platform.
Step 3: Onboard in Envoy
Several Envoy customers have migrated from Wati. Key notes:
- Message history won't transfer automatically. Wati doesn't provide an API export. History migration requires manual steps (QR code scanning, tampermonkey script export). Contact support if you need history preserved.
- Templates need to be recreated. Your Wati templates won't carry over. Create new templates in Envoy or via Meta WhatsApp Manager.
- Contacts transfer via CSV. Export your contact list from Wati and import into Envoy.
- Automations and chatbot flows need to be rebuilt manually in Envoy. Screenshot your Wati flows before disconnecting.
The previous platform may not have fully released the number. Contact the old platform's support to confirm deregistration, or wait 24 hours and try again.
